Between 2003 and 2005 Pendragon Language Teaching co-ordinated STELLA: Stepping up the e- learning of languages. This was a transnational, two year project funded by the EU as part of the Socrates / Minerva programme. Partners come from the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Denmark and Hungary. The Minerva Action under Socrates II (2000-2007) seeks to promote European co-operation in the field of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education in order to enable citizens of the European Union to take advantage of an open European area for cooperation in education. The project concentrated on providing the technological tools to generate high quality e-courses for Less Widely Taught and Used Languages (LWTULs). It not only supported the Council of Europe’s overall Language Education Policy, but also the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages.
